37964 "Dave Harris" <gvanman@c...> 1998‑02‑24 Bio : Dave Harris
Hi, I'm Dave Harris, Sales Manager (North America) for Fulmen Batteries
(forklift trucks, mining equipment, etc.). I got seriously into woodworking
2-3 years years ago and fell into the trap of the power tool lure. My first
project was a hunt board that I found a plan for in 'Woodworkers Journal',
which I modified to my taste and made it out of black walnut edged with red
oak - turned out really good ! Since then I have made a Governor Winthrop
desk (mahogany) and all kinds of odds'n'sods. My best project so far, was a
'Morris Chair' in QS white oak. This turned out so good that I am making a
'settle' to match it and junking the 'Art Van' furniture.
Current project is a workbench (a la Kirby - from the WB Book) and this is
what has drawn me back to the hand tool idea - no dust, very little noise
and much satisfaction !
I have lived in Howell, Michigan, USA since 1985 when I was transferred here
from jolly old England, by my company (no regrets).
Cheers,
          Dave Harris

(Oh geez guys do we have to make parenthetical notations to both Jeff & Dave
now?)

But seriously, its nice to have another Michagaloot on the porch. Pull up a
chair and let me see if I can find you something to drink.

I'll get that beer, he IS British, and I got some ale that'll fit the bill.
Oh, and I'll try to bring some to the PATINA auction....
