274587 Bill Webber 2021‑09‑20 Dan Ludwig
Dan Ludwig passed away last week after battling cancer for several
years. Dan was a friend to me and likely many of you. He was a
consummate tool and antique dealer. He had a shop in Glenside PA, and a
Sunday-only shop at Stoudt's in Adamstown. He was a fixture at all the
area tool shows, MWTCA, PATINA, Bud Brown's etc., and had been for the
30 years I knew him. He will be missed.

While I didn't know Dan, I appreciate your update, Bill. He seems like a
good fellow, and 30 years of friendship is a big investment, a big loss and
likely a big source of stories.

My favorite memories of Dan are on Sundays at the end of the building the
day after he had attended an auction/parking lot meet in Camp Hill. He
would show off his recent acquisitions of infill rabbet planes. They'd be
beautiful and I'd enjoy seeing them but I wasn't at the part of my tool
ingest journey where I'd even ask "how much". I did like poking around in
the drawers for a rosewood London porter handle to use for an unhandle
chisel or shop-made drawbore tool.

Area P has a meet on Saturday.

Thanks to you both for sharing. Sounds like a heck of a guy to lose as a
friend, and a fellow tool guy.
