Thank you Chris for all you have done for those six years. As a regular 
reader (and occasional writer) I have enjoyed the conversations here, 
and appreciate the way this mailing list has supported our good-humoured 
intercourse. Your setting up and hosting of the list, along with its 
searchable archive, and all the work to administer it, are hidden 
contributions we all benefit from.

Some other lists I belong to have recently transferred to the groups.io 
commercial service, which seems to work well. I'd be happy to throw a 
few dollars into the collection plate to make the transition to a paid 
service, if nobody offers to do what Chris has done.

(And, in case anyone suggests changing over to some kind of web forum 
instead of the mailing list format, let me say I would prefer not to do 
that.)
