Hey Ed,

 

If you look at the later images in that set, you can see that I painted the
chest a dark blue.  It was milk paint followed by Tung Oil and wax.  I think it
looks pretty spiffy.  In fact, it has become the colour of choice for me if I
build workshop related things.
