Eight inch floppy disks (late seventies, early eighties) are talked
about like we'd talk about an early Disston. Anybody who's worked on
Sixties vintage stuff is treated like Henry Disston himself, and anyone
who's worked on a valve (vacuum tube) computer might as well be Cesar
Chelor reincarnated.

*That*, all of thirty-odd years old, is like Colonial Williamsburg and
the Studley chest rolled into one.

The distinction depends on wether one considers elapsed years, or
elapsed proportion of the entire history of the subject to be the
relevant measure.
