79448 Richard Eisenman richarde@t... 2000‑06‑06 Bio:
Short and semi-sweet:

My name is Richard Eisenman, and I'm an Information Systems Manager for
Washington State University. That's a glorified title designed to placate
me for the loss of overtime. I live in Richland, Wa., cheek by jowl with
the Hanford Nuclear Site (glowing in the dark is really handy when doing
joinery during a power outage).

I started woodworking with hand tools when I was but a wee lad back in Los
Angeles. I loved wood and building the odd knick-knack for my mother, but
living in an apartment, couldn't go the Normite route. Lucky for me. I
developed a deep appreciation of the pleasures of hand crafting during that
time, but more or less lost touch with it as I grew older and got involved
with college, career, family, etc.

Recently I needed to get to work on some projects around the house, and
started looking around for what, forgive me, power tools I might need, when
the memories of my good times back in the old apartment dweller days came
bubbling up. Before I knew it, I was hitting the antique stores, building a
web-sites list, and bidding on planes at Ebay. In the process, I stumbled
on the Old Tools list and was hooked. I've been subscribed for a week or so
now, and felt the time was right to contribute a bio.

Be talkin' to ya'...
