276608 Tony Seo 2022‑11‑21 FS: November Nudging s 2022 Chapter 2
Second run of tools for the cold month of November.  The flea markets
have been spotty because of the weather, but a trip to the 5 minute flea
(meet up with a local guy that hits all the auctions) produced a decent
load of fresh goods.

PayPal is preferred (if you use it) on all items. It's easier for me to
ship items off of a paid PayPal invoice, especially First Class ones.

Checks and money orders are still welcome.

And remember........da more ya buy, the cheaper they fly!

First contact (that is e-mail, or phone) that says I want it gets it.
Prices do not include shipping.  All items are shipped with Delivery
Confirmation. Insurance, unless it is a big order or a very fragile item
is optional. Just let me know. Also, I am shipping a lot more stuff via
First Class mail. There will be a small amount added to the shipping
cover the cost of the padded mailer. I don't get them for free.

Please put your name and address in the message. Saves time and email
traffic!

Vintage Jewelers Deep Piercing Or Fret Saw.  Measuring 12 1/4" overall
as pictured, the blade is 4 7/8" long across the teeth, the throat is 4
3/4" deep, and this weighs 6 1/2 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the
maker.  This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned.  The frame
has some spots of light pitting and frosting. The front blade clamp is
missing the screw at the end, but that doesn't affect this being used.
The other two screws are also good.  The handle has a few tiny dings,
but has almost all of the original finish, plus a coat of wax.  The
blade came with the tool, but it feels sharp enough to use.  This ain't
perfect, but it's a solid older tool that will get the job done.  $24.00

L S Starrett No 603 4 Inch Tempered Machinist Rule.  This weighs 1/2 oz
unboxed.  This is in reasonably good condition and was not cleaned.
There are a few light frosted spots and some scratches, but overall
nothing too bad patina wise.  The edges and corners are crispy and all
the rulings are readable.  This ain't minty, but it's pretty darn
close.  $17.00

Henry Disston & Sons 8 Inch Adjustable Bevel Square.  This weighs 3 1/2
oz unboxed.  This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned.  The
blade is good save for some user initials on the back and has almost all
of the original bluing.  The edges are good, but the tip is worn a
little.  The handle has some dings and more user initials and there is a
little two tone grain on the side.  The locking screw works.  This ain't
pristine, but it sure ain't bad, and it will get the job done.  $18.00

Stanley SW No 71 Double Mortising & Marking Gage Or Gauge.  This weighs
5 oz unboxed.  This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned.
The beams have some stained spots and there are user initials on the
one.  The rulings are readable on both sides.  Both are straight and the
tips are good.  The head is also good save for a few light stains and
both screws work.  This ain't pristine, but it will get the job done.

Blacksmith 1 3/4 lb Cross Peen Hammer Head.  Measuring 4 5/8" long, the
face is 1 1/4" square, the peen is 1 1/4" wide, and this weighs 1 lb 12
3/4 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker.  This is in reasonably good
condition and was cleaned.  There is some light pitting and patina, but
nothing too bad.  The top has some scuffs from the last time that this
guy saw a handle.  The face has some light dings, cut marks, and is
slightly crowned.  The peen also has some light dings.  The eye is good
to go.  This ain't minty, but drop it on a handle and it will get the
job done.  $18.00

Hand Forged Slater Slate Splitting Chisel.  Measuring 9 9/16" long, the
edge is 1 9/16" wide, and this weighs 10 oz unboxed.  I can't find
anything on this company, but there were a lot of smaller slate outfits
around this area.  This is in reasonably good condition and was
cleaned.  There is some light pitting on both sides of the blade.  The
edge was dressed at some point, but will need a little more work.  The
striking button has a small check, but overall it's solid.  This ain't
perfect, but these tools got used hard, and this one will still get the
job done.  $20.00

Armstrong No 7-0 Small Ball Peen Hammer.  Measuring 9 7/16" overall, the
head is 2" long, the face is 9/16" in diameter, the peen is 1/2" in
diameter, I'm guessing the head to be 2 1/2 oz, and this weighs 3 3/4 oz
total unboxed.  This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned.
There is some wear to the finish on the head.  The face has some tiny
dings and the peen has a little wear on the end.  The handle is original
to the tool.  Somebody sanded down the end a little, probably to get rid
of a chipped area, but it's solid and the head is on tight. This ain't
minty, but it's a neat smaller tool that will get the job done.  $22.00

Lufkin No 8 Machinist Combination Square Ruler Clamp.  This weighs 2 oz
unboxed.  This is in good condition and was not cleaned.  There ain't
nothing much patina wise to fuss about.  All the screws work and the
tabs are good.  There ain't much more to go wrong with one of these
guys.  $18.00

hole is 1/8" in diameter, the dimple is 1/4", and this weighs 5 1/2 oz
unboxed.  This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned.  The
face has some spots of light pitting and a few light scratches.  Both
holes are good.  The head has some staining and frosting.  The striking
end has a little mushrooming, but nothing too bad.  This ain't pristine,
but it's a quality tool that will get the job done.  $15.00

Vintage 1/4 Inch Sash Paring Chisel.  Measuring 8 11/16" from the edge
to the end of the socket, the blade is 6 3/16" long, this is 12 3/16"
overall, and this weighs 4 1/2 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker.
This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. The back has a
spot of light pitting up by the edge and another area about 1/2 way
down, but it's clean for the most part.  The sides and top also have
some spots of light pitting.  The socket has some frosting and I did
take some mushrooming off of the end.  The handle is a good
replacement.  This ain't pristine, but it will get the job done.  $17.00

across the sweep, the sweep is a No. 27 (6), this is 9 3/8" overall, and
this weighs 1 oz unboxed.  This is in fair condition and was cleaned.
The inside of the sweep is clean for about the first 1/2 and after that
there is some pitting.  The shaft also has some pitting.  The handle is
good save for some chipping at the end.  This sure ain't minty, but it
will get the job done. $14.00

L S Starrett No 567 Style Machinist V-Block & Clamp.  The block is 4"
long, a little under 2" wide and high, and this all weighs 2 lbs 9 oz
unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker, this might be a Starrett, but I
have seen others that were shop made.  This is in decent condition and
was cleaned.  There are some overall scuffs on the block.  The V has
some drill marks.  There is a small cut into the block at the foot
section.  The edges and corners are good.  The clamp is a replacement.
That also has some light patina.  The screw is good and travels the full
distance.  $32.00

rules, they are 6 7/16" long and this weighs 10 oz unboxed.  Not signed
as to the maker, looks to be user crafted.  This is in decent condition
and was not cleaned.  The rules have some ink staining and spots of
light patina.  All the size markings are readable and all the teeth are
present.  This is is definitely not a commonly found tool by any
stretch.  $45.00

1/16" long, the jaws are 13/16" deep, 9/16" wide at the tips, and this
weighs 5 1/2 oz unboxed.  This is in reasonably good condition and was
cleaned.  This is a forged tool and there is a little patina left over
from that.  The jaws have a little frosting and a few very tiny dings,
but are good overall and close up tight and flush.  The joint has a wee
bit of wiggle.  The tack claw is good.  The pry bar tip is twisted a
little.  This ain't perfect, but it is a handy tool that will get the
job done.  $15.00

the face is 1 7/16" in diameter, the peen is 1 5/8" wide, and this
weighs 2 lbs 15 1/4 oz unboxed.  The PRR mark is small, but can be
read.  This is in decent condition and was cleaned.  There is that S
kinda welded on the one side and a chip at the lower end of it.  There
is also some pitting on the underside of the head.  The face has some
light dings and cut marks.  The peen also has some light roughness, but
nothing too bad.  I did run a file over some dings on the inside of the
eye at the top and that is good to go. This ain't the prettiest, but
it's a solid tool that will get the job done.  $18.00

Shelton No 04 1933 Patent Smooth Or Smoothing Plane.  This weighs 2 lbs
3 3/4 oz unboxed.  Cornelius J. MacAller of Derby, CT was granted Pat.
No.  1,914,609 on June 20, 1933 for the design of the blade adjuster.
The patent number on the body is missing the 1. This is in reasonably
good condition and was cleaned.  The sides have some machining marks,
but nothing patina wise.  The same goes for the sole.  The finish is
original and is close to perfect.  The cap is good.  The blade has some
frosting on the cutting area and some light scuffs.  The exposed areas
were never finished off bright to begin with.  The blade will need a
sharpening.  The tote and knob have some tiny dots of paint, but have
almost all of the original finish.  All the screws work.  This ain't
minty, but it's better than most of these that I come across, and yes,
folks actually used these guys.  $25.00

hammer face has some small chips on the sides and the cross hatching is
worn.  The eye has a little crusty on the inside, but it's solid with no
cracks that I can see.  This ain't the prettiest, but these older ones
got used hard, and they sure ain't getting any easier to come by.  $18.00

edge isn't shaving sharp, but it's not too bad.  The pick at the end is
also good.  The eye has some light crusty on the inside, but it's solid

outside of the sweep. this is 9 11/16" overall, and this weighs 2 oz
unboxed.  This is in fair condition and was cleaned. The inside of the
sweep was cleaned by someone else for the first 1/2" or so and that is
good.  The rest has some light pitting and frosting.  The back also has
some spots of pitting.  The edge is good.  The brass ferrule has a
check.  The handle looks to be original to the tool.  That has a thin
check under the ferrule and some grain checks at the end.  There are a
couple of small knot holes on the sides and some stains, but the handle
is solid enough to use.  This ain't pristine, but then tools that are,
at the least, 150 years old, rarely are.  $14.00

Vintage English 1/4 Inch Gouge.  Measuring 4 1/16" from the edge to the
top of the handle, the blade is 3" long, 1/4" wide across the inside of
the sweep, 3/8" across the outside, this is 8 1/4" overall, and this
weighs 1 1/2 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker, but this style of
tool was made in England.  This is in fair condition and was cleaned.
There is some light pitting for the first inch or so on the inside of
the sweep and after that, there is some deeper stuff.  The sides also
have some light pitting.  The back is fairly clean save for a few
spots.  The handle is original to the tool.  That has some stains,
dings, and a wee bit of mushrooming on the end, but it's solid.  This
sure ain't minty, but it will get the job done.  $14.00

faces are 2 5/16" and 2 5/8" in diameter, and this weighs a mere 6 lbs 2
1/2 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker.  This is in decent
condition and was cleaned.  The smaller face does have some dots of
light pitting, the other one is fairly good.  The handle has a casting
flaw on the one side, but it's solid.  I gotta say, that these guys sure
do not show up every day.  $25.00

opening is 5/32" square when this is completely close, and this weighs 1
lb 1 3/4 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker, other than a B stamped
on both sections.  This is in reasonably good condition and was
cleaned.  There is a little frosting and staining on the head area, but
nothing too bad.  The notches are good and both screws work.  There
ain't a whole lot more to go wrong with one of these guys.  $20.00

P S & W Pexto No 68 5 Inch Flat Jaw Pliers.  Measuring 5 13/16" long,
the jaws are 1 13/16" deep, 1/4" wide at the tips, and this weighs 3 1/2
oz unboxed.  Pexto double marked tools as they were transitioning to
that name.  This is in reasonably good condition, it was cleaned by
someone else who also hit it with the shiny stuff.  There is a little
frosting and light patina.  The jaw tips are worn and there is a little
wear on the insides.  They do close up flat and close.  The lap joint
has a little wiggle.  This ain't perfect, but these double marked tools
are not all that common. $15.00

signed as to the maker.  This is in reasonably good condition, it was
cleaned by someone else who also hit it with the shiny stuff.  There is
some light pitting and patina on the body. The tip is good with no wear
that I can see and the tang is good as well.  This ain't minty, but

deep, and this weighs 1 lb 7 1/4 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the
maker.  This is in decent condition and was cleaned.  There is some
light pitting and overall patina.  The jaws are good, although the edge
could stand a touch up.  The joint is also good with no play.  The one
handle does have a repair to it, but it's solid.  I gotta say, that hand
forged tools of this style rarely show up, this is like the 3rd that I
have seen in all the years that I have been doing this.  $27.00

Stanley No 4 Type 17 Smooth Or Smoothing Plane.  This weighs 3 lbs 6 1/2
oz unboxed.  This is a Type 17 and was made by Stanley between 1942 and
1945.  This is pretty much typical of the type.  This is in reasonably
good condition and was cleaned.  The sides are good other than the
factory machining marks, a little frosting, some light dings, and the
one has a dot of light pitting.  The sole also has the machining marks,
some scratches and frosting, but nothing too bad.  The japanning is
original and is 95% present.  The lever cap is good.  The chipbreaker
has some frosting on both sides.  The blade also has some light patina
on the exposed areas and the back. The cutting face is good other than a
little frosting down by the edge and there is plenty to work with.  The
edge does have some chips and will need a sharpening.  The knob has some
dings to the finish, but that has most of the original finish as does
the tote. Both were waxed.  All the screws work and were oiled.  This
ain't pristine, but as these guys go, this one is pretty darn close,
considering how hard they got used.  Just saying.  $55.00

Vintage Oak Turning Or Frame Saw.  Measuring 24 3/4" overall in length,
16 3/8" high, the blade is 19 5/8" long, this is sharpened to 5 1/2 TPI
rip, the throat is 7 3/16" deep, and this weighs 1 lb 5 oz unboxed.  Not
signed as to the maker.  This is in reasonably good condition and was
cleaned.  The legs and center bar are good overall, save for a lighter
area at the top of the one arm where the finish is worn.   The handle
holes on the arms are good with no cracks.  The one handle does have a
check down the side, but it's solid enough to use, and both spin
freely.  The blade has some light rusting, but all the teeth are
present, and it is sharp.  I did replace the one pin, but they are just
cut off nails.  The hand forged tensioning nut works, but somebody added
a nut between that and the handle as a spacer.  The rod isn't captive,
that's how it was made, and you have to hold it for a bit until the nut
is tightened.  This ain't perfect, but these guys are getting hard to
come by, and this one will get the job done.  This will be shipped in
"kit" form.  $60.00

L S Starrett No PT99437 Dial Indicator Clamp & Rod.  This weighs 5 1/2
oz unboxed.  This isn't signed, but Starrett didn't mark them.  This is
in good condition and was lightly cleaned.  It wasn't used much, it just
picked up a little patina from sitting around. The clamp is good and the
screw travels the full distance.  The screw on the rod works in all the
holes on the clamp.  This ain't pristine, but it's 1/2 the price of what
a new one sells for. $25.00

Bullard No 1 1903 Patent Pipe Wrench.  Measuring 9 1/2" long and this
weighs 13 oz unboxed.  Frank D. Bullard of Los Angeles, CA was granted
Pat. No. 742,389 on Oct. 27, 1903 for the design of this tool which was
made by the Bullard Automatic Wrench Company of Providence, RI.    This
is in decent condition, the only cleaning I did was to get rid of some
oil residue, but there still is some up in the joints.  The head pivots
just fine, but the teeth on the lower jaw do have some chipping.  The
handle has a slight bend looking fron the side, but then when you get to
be as old as this guy is, yer handle will have more than a slight
bend...just saying. This ain't minty, but these tools got used hard, and
this is not a very commonly found one either.  $25.00

Lufkin No 34V 24 Inch Vertical Wood Rule.  This weighs 3 1/2 oz
unboxed.  This is good condition and was not cleaned.  There is a little
wear to the finish, but almost all of it is present.  There are a few
light stains as well and somebody did a small hanging hole.  The brass
ends also have some staining.  The rulings are all readable, the edges
are good, and this is straight along the sides. There is a wee bit (like
1/16" or so) bend looking from the side. This ain't perfect, but these
guys sure don't show up very often in this kind of shape.  $18.00

products.  These are in reasonably good condition and were not cleaned.
The upper one has some wear to the finish on the wood and the lower one
has some ink stains on the scales.  All the rulings are readable and
edges are good.  These ain't pristine, but they are quality tools that

weighs 1 lb 9 3/4 oz unboxed.  Not signed as to the maker. This is in
decent condition and was cleaned.  There is some overall light patina
including some dings on the one side.  The face does have a chip off of
the one corner, but the rest is good other than a little frosting.  The
peen and eye are also good.  This ain't perfect, but drop it on a

Early Hand Forged P & R Railroad Blacksmith Hammer.  Measuring 13 1/4"
overall, the head is 5" long, the face such as it is, is roughly 1 3/16"
high, 1 7/16" wide, the peen is 1 11/16" high, and this weighs 3 lbs 3
1/4 oz unboxed.  The Philadelphia and Reading Rail Road were in business
from 1833 until 1893.  This is marked on the top and underside.  This is
in fair condition and was cleaned. There is some overall patina going.
The face is long gone, but they kept using it and there are some dings
there.  The peen also has some light dings.  The handle is old, but
probably not original. There are some dings, stains, and some chipping
starting at the end, but it's solid and on tight.  This sure ain't
pretty or perfect, but these railroad tools got used hard for many a
long year.  $17.00

frosting and light patina on both sides, but the flat and beveled edges
are both good.  The locking screw works.  The tempered No. 10 rule is
also good save for a few light stains.  All the rulings are readable and

light patina on the main area and some light pitting around the slot,
but still has some of the original gray finish.  The edges and corners
are good.  The rosewood handle has some dings, but the edges are fairly
good.  The locking screw works.  This ain't pristine, but considering

transfer outside caliper 8 1/2" long, and they weigh 15 oz unboxed.

travels the full distance.  All the other screws are good.  The fine
adjustment on the Ritter doesn't work, but the transfer joint on the
back does. The one tip on that one is bent a little.  The bottom line,

light patina and there is a noticeable bend looking from the side.  I
put it in the vise and gave it a couple of pulls, but it's going to take
