274710 Tony Seo 2021‑10‑16 Jacktown Fall 2021 Steam Engine Show & Flea Market Day 2
Today was the the official opening of the Jacktown Fall 2021 Steam
Engine Show & Flea Market and my second trip there.  I got there at 7:00
AM after a short and non-productive stop at the one flea market that was
on the way.  Only one dear made an appearance, but she was safely
standing way off the road on a lawn.  The weather was fairly nice, with
the rain holding off until this afternoon.

The park area of the show in the early morning light.

There are a lot more vendors than yesterday, still some empty spots, but
it was fairly full.

There were a fair number of things going on out in the exhibition area.
Here are a couple of guys making a lot of noise and sawdust, with a big
old gas powered eater of wood.

Pickings were light, I heard too many reports of good finds after I had
left yesterday from vendors who had set up, but short of hanging out
there all day, there ain't much you can do. Woodworking tools include a
Stanley No. 2101A 8" Yankee brace that needs a little cleaning, a
Stanley No. 63 round sole spoke shave, a hand forged 6" drawknife, an
old ram's horn cabinet scraper, an orphan Stanley spokeshave cap (NFS, I
have lots of bodies, now to find some blades), a Buck Bros 3/8" socket
firmer chisel, a Buck Bros 5/8" patternmaker's gouge, an Eclipse plane
blade and chisel sharpening guide, and a fair nice Stanley No. 136R
caliper rule.

Other trade tools include a Lufkin machinist micrometer depth gage in
the original wooden box, a Blue Point body hammer, a big hand forged
stump anvil or denglestock, a set of 3 founders spoons, and a rough, but
usable round jaw blacksmith tongs.

Not as big a pile as I was hoping for, but that's the way  that it is.
The ride back was fairly uneventful, other than having a bear cup cross
the one back road leading up to the house and seeing it and another cup
along with momma walking down in a ravine.  Sadly I couldn't get a picture.

Tony (running on fumes and one more day of early morning flea market
runs to do...)
