273440 Richard Wilson <yorkshireman@y...> 2021‑04‑15 Lost mail (was) Re: the leest, she ees down?
Regarding lost email, which I also previously mentioned, for the benefit of the
list, and Chris - who kindly took a look and profferred is usual sound advice…

I believe I located all my ‘missing’ emails eventually. I had a number of
‘issues’ with my new host, and more annoyance and grumpiness than i care to
admit to other than to fellow old grumps here. Delving into some logs and
sifting backups and filters revealed that Oldtools had done a fine job of trying
to keep me in touch with the pulsing heart of neanderthal woodworking, despite
the best efforts of more modern children’s programming to be ‘clever’ and decide
what to throw away.

Oh for the old days when software provided a means of access to ‘all’
configuration options instead of deciding ‘what’s best’ for the 98% of dim
users.

everything that was sent solely to oldtools@g... into my INBOX, whereas if the
post had multiple additional recipients, especially when oldtools@g... is a Cc:,
it may end up in my JUNK folder.
