When you think the list is down, try these steps:

1) Checks the groups.io website directly.

2) Check your SPAM or JUNK folder. I find that, so far at least, I get
everything that was sent solely to oldtools@g... into my INBOX, whereas if the
post had multiple additional recipients, especially when oldtools@g... is a Cc:,
it may end up in my JUNK folder.

#2 is obviously a function of my SPAM filter, which would sporadically do this
in the previous implementation of the Porch before groups.io
