Esteemed Galloots,

I was born in New Britain CT in 1946. Now you can figure out my age and I
won't have to update for some time to come. My grandfather was a
superintendent at Stanley Tools and my father served 2 pattern making
apprenticeships there and worked in the pattern shop 'till it was closed. I
still have his Gerstner toolbox, with a brass plaque dated 1947, that
Stanley gave him upon completion of his metal patternmaking apprenticeship.

Being a true '60's rebel I served a machinist apprenticeship at P&WA and
then a toolmakers apprenticeship at Chandler Evens Co., a division of Colt
Ind.. Worked in the metal trades for more than 30 years.

My wife and I run a small, and I emphasize the word small, business
manufacturing inductors for pro speaker systems in Manchester, CT. We have
been doing this for about 20 years.

I got into woodworking about 10 years ago when a friend gave me an old
Rockwell 9" table saw. I never plugged it in, I swear. My wife cranked it by
a handle I put on the arbor :)

My love of tools seems to come naturally. I love old things, so old tools
are also a natural. When it comes to woodworking all I want is to build
furniture.
