Hi All,
I guess it is about time for me to submit my bio. I am a 52 year old
Systems Software Programmer working at the University of Kansas in
Lawrence, KS. My interest in old tools is using them, not collecting.
So far I have accumulated a modest set of bench planes, some saws, and
some odd chisels and other miscellaneous stuff. I get virtually all
my old tools at auctions. My latest score was a 54 X 64 X 2.25" work-
bench top with 3 Record 52D vises and a comparably sized Wilton vise,
for which I am currently building a base. A local school district was
phasing out their wood shop program and was auctioning off all thier
woodworking equipment. It is a shame that apparently schools all over
the country are dropping wood working classes. I wonder where the next
generation of woodworkers will come from?
