52734 Fire2 <Fire2@r...> 1998‑11‑04 Bio
Well here goes for the second time.......Or so I thought. I checked the
list of Bios yesterday and was surprised to find myself not on there
because I swear I sent one way back when I first heard of this august
group. So once more with feeling.

I'm 35, married, have four crumm crunckers and have been woodworking
more or less for about 18 years. I got serious about traditional wood
working while stationed in Germany and was taken under the wing of a
fine old retired craftsman. Since that time it has been the slippery
slope, although, not the hair raising plunge I've heard described by
others. I have been accompanied down the slide by my father (also a
Galoot) who is on his own downward ride. I have been involved in rather
alot of aspect of woodworking from tool making, antique restorations and
repairs, Windsor chair making, picture framing, and tool
coll.....uh..cleaning and storage to name a few. On my days off from all
of this I am a firefighter for a rather small town in Northern
Disneyland (California Jeff). Lots of Galoot tools in the fire service
by the way (ever heard of a "Jet Axe"?). I am currently involved in a
slowspeed, low pressure, small volume production run of a tool that you
all might be interested in when it's done. I won't tell the secret
though because I am determined to keep it low pressure and have them
available when they are announced. I have the best job in the world for
a Galoot (20 days off a month) so I get entirely too much time in the
shop.........NOT!!!!! never could be enough. This list has been a
tremendous experience for me and I plan to continue to enjoy it. To all
of you who have become my electronic (and some times in person) friends
let me just say Thanks a lot.

                        Obiwan (Tim O'Brien)
