50730 r_moore@t... 1998‑09‑30 Bio
Since Paddy is tossing thinly veiled threats around, I suppose I'd
better go ahead and post my bio. I'm Randy Moore, I'm married to
Melanie, my SWMBO of 8 years, we have two GITs, Lauren, 4, and
Austin, 3 months (hereafter referred to as "Brutus", a VERY big baby).
We live in Maypearl, TX, (35 miles South of Dallas) next door to
what remains of the Superconducting Supercollider, if any of you
remember that little federal boondoggle of the early '90s.
Like many of you, I grew up strictly Normite, in spite of the fact that
Pop is a bricklayer, surely the most galootish of occupations. I fell
headlong down the slippery slope after my MIL gave me her
great-uncle's t11 #5c, so I can blame all of this on her. I cleaned it to
put on the mantle (family heirloom, ya know) then got on the internet
to try to find out how old it was. I stumbled upon Mr. Leach's B&G and
the rest is history. I now have a modest but growing assortment of
tools and have developed an interest in North Bro.s Yankee boring
tools due to a 10" 2101 brace I picked up at a flea market. A tool built
to last many lifetimes.
Any DFW area galoots out there who can help clue me in on the local
OT market? I missed the SWTCA get-together in Arlington this summer,
much to my chagrin, I'm sure that would have been a real eye-opener.
That's probably more than you wanted to read, so I'll just go back to
lurking and wait for the day when I can contribute something useful to
the porch.

Proud to have met you,
Randy Moore
