272878 Bill Ghio 2021‑02‑23 Sliding bevel
I don’t think I have shared this tool before. I found it several years ago in an
antique shop where there is a dealer who specializes in machinist’s tools. There
are no makings and I assume it is user made.

It is adjustable in two dimensions but what really makes it stand out is the cam
action locking mechanism.

I have a second bevel that also appears to be user made. It also offers
adjustments in two directions, but the locking mechanism is a simple knurled
nut. However, it has another characteristic that makes it stand out…

That cam lever looks like it might be off a lathe or other machine tool
