Galoots, Thanks for the compliments on my stuff! These pirates were more modern--that's why they used phillips screws. Also I think some of them were Canadian. Ha! Someone (privacy respected) said I should have filled the chests with fools' gold, making them "Pyrite chests" ! Sheesh. But that might have made them "Pirate JESTS" Which might not have gone over well with the granddaughters. So there! Hee hee. Best, PhilE. |

Adding my compliments to the chorus, Phil! The chests are wonderful, and will be cherished. Need proof? One of my favorite galoot memories is an afternoon in the shop with our then-young son, building a pirate treasure chest to house his growing pile of pirate action figures. Ours was a basic rectangular box with a faux coopered lid, not nearly as fancy as yours--but he still has it, and he still keeps stuff in it, and he's in his third year of college.
