This year is pretty much in the books. Where they go any more, I have
not a clue. Pickings have been few and far between but I've been
managing to bring some fresh good goodies out in the world. Lots of good
user and collector tools to behold.
PayPal is now accepted and preferred (if you use it) on all items. It's
easier for me to ship items through there, especially First Class
ones. Checks and money orders are still welcome.
And remember........da more ya buy, the cheaper they fly!
First contact (that is e-mail, or phone) that says I want it gets it.
Prices do not include shipping. All items are shipped with Delivery
Confirmation. Insurance, unless it is a big order or a very fragile item
is optional. Just let me know. Also, I am shipping a lot more stuff via
First Class mail. There will be a small amount added to the shipping
cover the cost of the padded mailer. I don't get them for free.

Stanley No 5 1/2 Type 20 Jack Plane. This weighs 5 lbs 15 1/2 oz
unboxed. This is a Type 20 and was made by Stanley between 1962 and
1967. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. The sides have some
frosting and a couple of tiny dings. The sole has some frosting,
scratches, and light pitting. The blue finish is original and close to
perfect but there are some dots of paint that didn't want to come off.
The lever cap is good other than some glazing. The chipbreaker is also
good. The blade has some light patina on the exposed areas of the front
and some light pitting on the back, but the cutting face is clean and
there is lots to work with. The blade will need a sharpening. The tote
and knob are stained hardwood. The original finish was a mess so they
were stripped and waxed. Both are solid. All the screws work and were
oiled. This ain't pristine but it will get the job done. $70.00

Stanley No 4 Type 7 Smooth Or Smoothing Plane. This weighs 3 lbs 2 1/2
oz unboxed. This is a Type 7 and was made by Stanley between 1893 and
1899. This has the 3 patent dates on the lateral lever and the S
casting mark on the body and the underside of the cap. This is in fair
condition and was cleaned. The sides have some frosting and light
scratches. The sole has some deeper scratches and a bunch of deep dings
on the front. The mouth has a little chipping on the front edge. The
japanning is original and about 65% present. The lever cap has some
scratches from a previous cleaning and there is some chipping on the
edge. The chipbreaker has some frosting and a couple of lightly pitted
spots. The blade was replaced with a SW one at some point. That has
some light patina on the exposed areas and the back. The cutting face
has some frosting and some scuffs but nothing too bad. There are some
chips on the edge but the blade will need a sharpening anyways. The
tote and knob have some dings and wear but they are solid. All the
screws work and were oiled. This ain't pretty or perfect but 120 year
old tools rarely are. $50.00

Vintage Rochester NY 7 Inch Mast Shave Draw Knife. Measuring 17 3/4"
overall, the blade is 7 7/16" long, 1 7/16" wide across the edge, and
this weighs 1 lb 7 oz unboxed. This is just marked Rochester NY
(partial) but it's probably a D R Barton product. This is in decent
condition and was cleaned. The steel part of the back is clean other
than a couple of spots of light pitting and some frosting. The edge has
a couple of dings but it's good otherwise. There are a couple of thin
checks where the blade meets the tangs but they aren't deep and won't be
a problem. I did clean some mushrooming off of the top on both sides
and there is some dinging on the upper edge. That ain't perfect but
it's better than it was. The handles are black walnut and original.
They have some dings and wear, the one has some chipping around the
lower turning, but they are solid and on tight. This ain't pristine but
it's a solid old tool that will get the job done. $35.00

condition and was cleaned. The head has some light patina. The face
has some light dings. The peen has a little wear on the end. The
handle is original. That has some dings, stains, and wear. There is a
little chipping under the eye as well but it's solid and the head is on
tight. This ain't pretty or perfect but these bigger ones rarely are
and it is a quality tool. $18.00

the sweep, 9/16" across the outside, this is 10 3/8" overall, and this

cleaned. The inside of the sweep has some staining but nothing too bad
patina wise. The back also has some staining. The edge will need a
little work. The handle has the original finish and is good to go.
This ain't pristine but it's pretty darn close. $19.00

one side of the blade and some deeper spots on the back. The handle is
nicely beveled on the edges. That also has some light patina. This
ain't pretty or perfect but then it wasn't made to do a pretty job.

Two AETCO Bevel Edge Firmer Chisels. The upper one is a 1/4", measuring
6 1/2" overall, the blade is 4 1/4" long, the lower one is a 3/4",
measuring 8 1/4" overall, the blade is 6" long, and they weigh 8 1/4 oz
unboxed. The American Edge Tool Company worked in or around the
Philadelphia PA area, from the late 1940's until the early 1960's.
These are NOS but they were stored some place less than nice and were
cleaned. The 1/4" is good all around. The 3/4" is clean for the first
2" on the back and after that there is either some pitting or a light
casting flaw. The front also has some light patina as does the socket.
They will need handles. These ain't pristine but they will get the job
done. $22.00

does have a few spots of light pitting. The handle has some stains and
dings on the end. This ain't fancy but it will get the job done. $14.00

and was cleaned. The blade has some light spots of pitting but has most
of the original finish. The edges and corners are good. The handle
also has most of the original finish plus a coat of wax except on the
brass plates. That is good other than some light dings and wear. The
locking screw works and was oiled. This ain't pristine but 100 plus
year old tools rarely are and it will get the job done. $18.00

Unusual Billings & Spencer Pliers Tool. Measuring 9 1/4" long, the jaws
are 3/16" wide and are notched top to bottom and side to side, and this
weighs 5 oz unboxed. This is marked Patent Pending but I can't find a
patent for this tool. I am guessing that it's some kind of spring clip
tool, but for what, I cannot say, and I can't find any info on it. This
is in decent condition and was cleaned. There are some spots of pitting
on the jaws and arms. The tips of the jaws are good. The joint has a
little wiggle. The punch tip is good. The other handle end is
sharpened. This ain't minty but it sure ain't a common tool, at least
in my travels. $25.00

Two Lufkin Rule Co Machinist Telescoping Gages. The one on the left
goes from 1" to 1 5/16", the one on the right goes from 1 1/4" to 2
3/16", and they weigh 1 1/4 oz unboxed. Eugene J. Witchger of Saginaw,
MI was granted Pat. No. 1,860,640 on May 31, 1932 for the design of
these tools. These are in reasonably good condition and were cleaned.
There is a little frosting but nothing too bad. The heads are good and
work smoothly. The cross hatching on the handles and knobs have a
little staining but are crispy to the touch. These ain't minty but they
will get the job done and Lufkin machinist tools are just as good as
their Starrett and Brown & Shape cousins. $14.00

tip is 3/16" wide, and this weighs 1/2 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the
maker. These came with the old sewing machines as well as other tools.
This is in decent condition and was cleaned. The one side of the blade
and shaft have some pitting, the other side is good. The tip is good to
go. The rosewood handle has some dings, mainly on the end, but it's
solid and the shaft is tight. This ain't pristine but it is a neat
older tool. $14.00

The handle looks to be original. That has some stains, wear, and there
is a hole at the end, probably from a strap, but it's solid and the head
is in tight. This ain't perfect but considering the age of the tool,
well it sure ain't bad. $14.00

face has some dings and wear. The peen also has some light dings and a
little bit of mushrooming on the one end. The eye has a little chipping
around the inside on the top, but the rest is good to go. This ain't
pretty or perfect but it will get the job done. $20.00

Hand Forged Straight Jaw Blacksmith Tongs. Measuring 17" long, the jaws
are 2 7/16" deep, 7/8" wide at the tips, and this weighs 2 lbs 5 1/2 oz
unboxed. There is a name hot stamped on the tops of the jaws but it's
too faint to make out. This is in decent condition and was cleaned.
There is some overall pitting and patina. The jaws are good and close
tight with the handles crossed a little. The joint has some wiggle but
the rivet is good. The one handle is chipped a little on the end and I
did zing down a little sharpness. This ain't fancy but it will get the
job done. $23.00

condition and was cleaned. There is the usual patina but nothing too
bad. There is some mushrooming on the top but that's an occupational
hazard with these guys. The edge is fairly good. This ain't the
fanciest one that I have had but it is a good collectible example of the
art of the blacksmith. $17.00

might be the original one. That has some wear, a little roughness on
the grain, some chipping at the end, but it's solid. The head is on

unboxed. This is in decent condition and was cleaned (it might not look
like it, but trust me, it was!) There is some overall patina. The
plating on the tops of the handles is present but a little rough. There
is a small chip off of the rosewood sole, along with some scratches and
wear, but it's not completely worn out. The screw for the blade clamp
and the rod for the clamp head both work and were oiled. The screws on
the sole also remove. This will need a blade. Minty picked up and
moved out of town on this guy a while back, but it will get the job
done. $28.00

Stanley No 65 Boxwood Marking Gage. This weighs 4 3/4 oz unboxed. As
you can see, somebody drilled a hanging hole through the mark but I know
what it is. This is in decent condition and was cleaned. The beam has
some stains and wear at the end where the tip is, but it's straight and
all the rulings are readable. The point is good and the screw works.
The head also has some stains and wear. The locking screw does it's
job. This ain't pristine but it will get the job done. $17.00

Tabor Mfg Co 4 Inch 1885 Patent Speed Indicator. Measuring 4" long and
this weighs 2 1/2 oz unboxed. Harris Tabor of New York, NY was granted
Pat. No. 325,991 on Sept. 8, 1885 for the design of this tool. This is
in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. The body has a few dots
and some scuffs but nothing too bad. The plating on the wheel is worn a
little on the front and a little more on the back. The spring loaded
tip is good and this spins freely. This ain't pristine but it is not a
very common tool, at least in my travels. $30.00

Brown & Sharpe Machinist No 810 6 Inch Divider. Measuring 6 13/16" from
the tips to the top of the spring and this weighs 2 1/2 oz unboxed.
This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. There is a little
patina on the legs and user initials on the one but nothing too bad. The
screw threads are good and the nut travels smoothly. The tips are quite
pointy. This ain't perfect but it sure ain't bad. $20.00

caliper measuring 3 9/16" long, a No. 275 outside caliper measuring 3
5/8" long, and they weigh 1 1/2 oz unboxed. These are in decent
condition and were cleaned. The No. 274 has some frosting and light
pitting on the arms and spring. The No. 275 is fairly clean. The screws
work and travel the full distance. The tips are good as well. These
ain't pristine but they will get the job done. $28.00

Darling Brown & Sharpe 3 Inch Machinist Try Square. Measuring 3 7/8"
overall in length, 2 5/8" high, and this weighs 4 1/4 oz unboxed.
Darling, Brown & Sharpe were in business from 1866 until 1892, when
Darling left the building. This is in decent condition and was
cleaned. The rule has frosting on the front or signed side and very
lightly scratched user initials. The back of the blade has some very
light pitting and a user name as well. THe edges and corners are good.
The handle has some light pitting on the inside face and the outside but
the edges on that are good as well. This is true according to my
reference square here. This ain't minty but considering that it is at
the least, 127 years old and probably a whole lot older than that, well
it sure ain't bad. $30.00

L S Starrett Machinist 12 Inch 3 Piece Combination Square. This weighs
1 lb 10 1/2 oz unboxed. This is in reasonable condition and was
cleaned. The rule has some stained and frosted spots along with user
initials, but nothing too bad and all the rulings are readable. The
edges and corners are crispy. The square head has some wear to the
finish and the same user initials and shop number marked on it. The
vertical machined face has a couple of light spots of pitting down by
the slot but it's clean for the most mark and the miter face is good
other than some staining. This even has the scribe. The protractor is
a No. 490 bevel edge. The face on that is good, the finish has a little
wear and some funky spots. The locking screws and tabs are good on both
and the screws for the protractor head both work. Both of the clear
levels are good to go. This ain't minty but for a used tool, well it
sure ain't bad. $65.00

originally. These are in as found condition and were not cleaned.
There is some paint spray, paint splats, and overall patina. The clamps
are good and hold. The bars are straight. The inner jaws pivot on a
screw to allow for clamping slightly less than square items. The
moveable jaws are good for the most part. These ain't pretty or perfect
but this is not a very commonly found style for this clamp. $20.00

some spots but it's clean enough to use if you want to flip the bevel.
The edge will need some work. The handle has some dings, stains, and
user initials but it's solid overall. This ain't no picture of
perfection but it will get the job done. $17.00

3/4 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the maker, there is a model number on

lines on both ends from when this was made but no wear to speak of. The

it will get the job done. $16.00

reasonably good condition and was cleaned. Overall there isn't much in
the way of patina. There is just a whisker of mushrooming on the top.
The steel cutting face has some frosting and light pitting for the first
1/2 and some spots after than but most of that will work out as this is
sharpened, which it will need. This ain't perfect but they ain't making

cleaned. The screw and cutters on the lead auger are good. The main
auger is also good with nothing serious patina wise. The edge isn't
shaving sharp but it's not too bad in that department. The handle is
good other than some stains and a little wear. The screw removes but
the handle does not. This ain't minty but as these guys go, well it

Emmert Turtleback Patternmaker Vise To Restore. This is in as found,
fresh from the shop condition. There is a bunch of saw dust residue and
shop patina from decades of use. The front jaw wiggles and it looks
like the inside of the front jaw has some chipping around the hole for
the shaft, but I can't say for sure. The hinge on the mounting bracket
doesn't move but I didn't really nuts with it. The main screw does
work. This is missing the tilt bracket and rod but most of the are.
