267870 Brent Parkin <brent@e...> 2019‑02‑15 One good toolbox deserves another
GG’s,

Since we just saw one lovely toolbox, how about another?

I don’t think I ever found a way to show off my version of an English Tool Chest
when I built it in 2016.  Up until then I had been using a standing tool chest
that I built and really didn’t like how it worked.  After reading the Anarchist
Tool Chest, I thought why not give a traditional floor chest a shot.  The worst
case being I end up with a nice blanket box and not a tool chest.

So I picked up 100bf of Alder and had at it.  I added some oak to the mix for
areas of heavy wear.  After making the first measurements of the sides lengths
with a tape measure, I never measured anything again other than using some pinch
rods to transfer needed dimensions.  It was a lot of fun and I love working out
of it now.  I usually roll it behind me when working at the bench and just turn
and grab what I need as I go.  I have a pretty messed up back that is always in
pain, but I hve no issues leaning on the chest and reaching it to get what I
want.

I dropped a bunch of pictures on a shared Google Drive if you would like to take
a look at how the project progressed.
