A short and sweet list this time around. There are some fresh arrivals
in the NOS and old stuff. There are a some quality tools here to grab.
PayPal is now accepted and preferred (if you use it) on all items. On
items less than $25 (not including shipping) I would appreciate you
using the Send Money to Family & Friends option so I don't get killed
with the fees but that is your call. Checks and money orders are still
welcome, it just seems that 1st Class letters seem to be taking forever
to get from there to here.
And remember........da more ya buy, the cheaper they fly!
First contact (that is e-mail, or phone) that says I want it gets it.
Oldtools terms, except on items and orders over $100, if I don't know ya
or haven't done business in the past (and my records good way back..)
then it's pre-pay. I do take PayPal (except as noted). Prices do not
include shipping. All items are shipped with Delivery Confirmation.
Insurance, unless it is a big order or a very fragile item is optional.
Just let me know. Also, I am shipping a lot more stuff via First Class
mail. There will be a small amount added to the shipping cover the cost
of the padded mailer. I don't get them for free.
Please put your name and address in the message. Saves time and email
traffic!

Ridgway No 220 11 Piece Irwin Pattern Auger Bit Set & Roll. The sizes
are 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 9/16", 5/8", 11/16", 3/4", 7/8", 1",
and this all weighs 2 lbs 9 1/2 oz unboxed. Ridgway was a long time
Sheffield England auger bit maker in business from 1878 until they
merged with Record in 1975 to become Record Ridgway. These just have
the Ridgway marks so they were made before that time. These are NOS,
that's New Old Stock. Note these are straight, any bending you see is
because of camera lens distortion. I did clean off a few small spots of
rust they picked up from setting around. The edges and lead screws are
factory fresh. A couple of tangs have a little patina. The canvas roll
does have a couple of rust stains on the inside and a little bit of a
musty smell to it, but it just needs a good airing out. If you are
looking for a quality set of bits, well you can't do much better than
this one. $55.00

Tyzack Turner No 166 Talisman 10 Inch 13 PT Tenon Saw. This weighs 1 lb
3 1/2 oz unboxed. This is NOS, that's New Old Stock, and was not
cleaned. There are some spots of funky on the brass back from being
stored but the blade is factory bright. The handle finish is perfect
other than one small spot of something above the medallion (these
weren't stored in very nice place). There also is a little funky on the
sawnuts on the back. Nothing worth kicking the cat over. If you are
looking for a top quality back saw, you can't do much better than this
for the price. $60.00

There is little light funky and couple have some light rust spots from
laying around but nothing worth kicking the cat over. The handles have
some scuffs from being knocked around. Note: The ones you get might
vayu slightly from the pictures. These are quality chisels by one of

Two Lufkin Machinist No 40 Series Calipers. On the left is a 3" No. 41
outside caliper, on the right is a 4" No. 42 inside caliper, and they
weigh 2 1/2 oz unboxed. These are NOS, that's New Old Stock. I did clean
off some oil residue on these (they were oiled at the factory). There is
a little still up in the joints and there and here. The tips of the No.
41 have a few stained spots (these weren't stored very well). Lufkin
machinist tools are every bit as good as their Starrett and Brown &
Sharpe cousins. $20.00

and was not cleaned. There is nothing to fuss about at all other than a
little bit of extra protective finish on the front of the blade. This
is factory sharp and straight and they don't get any better than this.

Fresh Old Arrivals
L S Starrett No. 456-B Gear Tooth Vernier Calipers. This weighs 8 1/2
oz unboxed. This is in used condition and was cleaned. There are some
spots of frosting and light pitting but nothing too bad. There are user
initials on the one clamp. The edges on the tips and depth gage are
good. All the rulings are readable and all the screws work. The one on
the clamp for the depth gage is bent a little but it does tighten down
properly. The threads on the fine adjusters have a little funky but
they are good to go. This ain't minty and it sure ain't got anything
close to the price of a new one. Look it up. $95.00

Old Victorian Ball Brace. Measuring 12 1/8" long, the sweep is 8", and
this weighs 1 lb 8 3/4 oz unboxed. I don't recognize the maker's name
but Brevete is patented in French. This is in reasonably good condition
for the age and was cleaned. There is a little frosting on the arms and
a few bits of patina that didn't want to come off but nothing too bad.
The chuck and screw are good. The chuck takes both the square tang and
the European style flat tang bits. The grip has some dings and wear and
an old repair. The pad also has some dings, stains, and wear. The pad
has a little play on the shaft but it turns okay. I gotta say that this
is only the second one of these guys that I have seen that takes both
style of bits, and I don't expect to be seeing too many more. $34.00

Buck Bros Cast Steel 7/8 Inch Gouge To Restore. Measuring 7 7/16" from
the edge to the top of where the handle would start, the blade is 5 7/8"
long, 7/8" wide across the outside of the sweep, this is 9 7/8" overall,
and this weighs 4 3/4 oz unboxed. This is in reasonably good condition
and was cleaned. The back of the blade is good other than some staining
and one spot of light pitting about 3/4's of the way down. The inside
of the sweep has some light frosting but the back is where the money is
at on this guy. The edge is good, but it will need a quick sharpening.
The tang and bolster are good. This will need a handle, the one that
was on there was pretty well trashed. $16.00

AETCO 1 Inch Pattern Maker Crank Neck Gouge. Measuring 9 3/8" from the
edge to the top of the handle (straight across), the blade is 7 3/4"
long, a little over 1" wide across the outside of the sweep, this is 18
3/8" overall, and this weighs 12 1/2 oz unboxed. The American Edge Tool
Company worked in or around the Philadelphia PA area, from the late
1940's until the early 1960's. This is in decent condition and was
cleaned. The back of the blade has some machining marks left over from
when it was made, some staining, and a few light dots and spots. The
edge is good. Inside the sweep there are a few spots of pitting. The
handle is the original signed one. That has some staining but nothing
too bad. This ain't the fanciest but it will get the job done. $26.00

Two Old L S Starrett 8 Inch Yankee 70 Series Inside & Outside Calipers.
The left one is a No. 73 inside caliper measuring 9 1/8" long, the right
one is a No. 79 outside caliper measuring 9 3/16" long, and they weigh
10 1/2 oz unboxed. Robert J. Simpson and Laroy S. Starrett, both of
Athol, MA, were granted Pat. No. 793,850 on July 4, 1905 for the design
of the quick adjustment spring nuts used on these tools. Figuring the
20 year limit on the use of the patent date mark, these are at the
least, 92 years old and probably a bit older. These are in decent
condition and were cleaned. There are some spots of frosting and light
pitting on the arms, mainly on the outside caliper. There are user
initials stamped on both sides of the tools. There is some funky up
inside the springs and joints. The patented spring nuts work on both of
them and the threads are good. The tips are good as well. These ain't
minty, but considering that new ones will set you back a buck 60 for the
pair, well they ain't bad. $45.00

Buck Bros 9/16 Inch Gouge. Measuring 6 7/16" from the edge to the top
of the handle, the blade is 5 1/16" long, 9/16" wide across the outside
of the sweep, this is 12 9/16" overall, and this weighs 4 1/2 oz
unboxed. This is in reasonably good condition and was cleaned. The
back of the blade has some tiny and light spots but nothing too bad.
Inside the sweep there is some frosting. Somebody beveled this on the
back, it was beveled on the inside at the factory, but it is fairly
sharp as is. The handle has some stains, a user name stamped in a
couple of spots, and a small flat spot on the back. The handle is solid
with no checks that I can see. This ain't minty but it sure ain't bad
either. $18.00

Machinist Adjustable Trammel Points. The beam is 23" long, the heads
are 3 1/2" high, and this weighs 4 1/4 oz unboxed. Not signed as to the
maker. These are in used but good condition and were cleaned. The
heads have some light spots of patina but nothing too bad. All of the
nuts work and the points remove. The beam has a rough spot on the one
end where it was either shortened or that's how this was made. This
ain't got a fancy name attached to it, but this is a quality tool. $32.00
