19491 Rafael Sanchez <sanchez@a...> 1997‑05‑31 Bio
I suppose the time has come for me to quit lurking...

I'm 38 with SWMBO and 2 galoots-in-training, Eli (3) and
Emilio (1). I'm a computer programmer for Tandem Computers
in Austin but I live 60 miles north in Temple where SWMBO
works as a genetic counselor. I got interested in woodworking
after I built one of those swing sets from the kits the
home improvement stores sell. I built it using western red
cedar and some tailed apprentices. After sanding the cedar
with a b*lt s*nd*r I would have trouble running (I run marathons
in my spare time) for a couple of days, I could feel the dust
in my lungs. This got me leaning towards the handtool ways.
Plus the 3-year-old likes to go into the shop when I'm
puttering around and I'd prefer for him to keep all his fingers.

I'm currently trying to build a workbench out of some 8/4 pecan
I got for cheap with some tools I've acquired from the MofA.

So, I guess there's another new guy on the porch that's going
to be asking for advice. And hopefully at some point in the
future I'll be able to steer some newcomer wrong with the
advice I give. :)

Rafael
